At the Paddock Wood Town Council Planning and Environment meeting on Monday 4th December the only item on the agenda was the planning application by Berkeley Homes to build 309 new homes at Mascalls farm.
After a long discussion the Council finally voted to oppose the planning application.
The main items discussed were: surface water and flood management issues, foul water management, highway issues, Foalhurst Wood and trees in general on the site, housing styles and the provision for play equipment.
The most serious concerns of the Council were the water issues and the impact on Foalhurst Wood. The Council is firmly of the opinion that an additional sewer is essential to accommodate the new housing developments.
